Posters with Purpose: Design + Print for the Rock Hall

Posters with Purpose: Design + Print for the Rock Hall

The Opportunity

I was invited to design and screen print a limited-edition poster for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Home Movie Day—a celebration of personal film archives and community storytelling. For a Cleveland-based artist with roots in both music and DIY print culture, this wasn’t just another project—it was a full-circle moment.

Why It Mattered

Design work always feels personal, but this hit differently. The Rock Hall isn’t just a client—it’s a cultural landmark that represents decades of music, rebellion, and creativity. Getting the chance to contribute even a small piece to that story was an honor I took seriously.

And personally, it ran even deeper.
Growing up, music was my lifeline. My Uncle Jim was a major influence. I remember hearing him play guitar in the attic—I'd sit on the stairs just to listen, amazed by the sounds he could make. He took me to get my first guitar, and later gifted me a Marshall half-stack amp I still own. That’s where my love for rock began—Led Zeppelin, Sabbath, AC/DC. Designing for the Rock Hall felt like a nod to the kid I was and everything that shaped me.

The Process

I was tasked with producing 200 two-color screen printed posters for the event. This required tight coordination with the Rock Hall’s team and precision through every step of production.

Production Workflow:

  • Consolidated and finalized design with Rock Hall team

  • Registered artwork for screen output

  • Burned screens and set up press

  • Printed color layer first and racked to dry

  • Printed black layer and allowed final dry time

  • Counted and sorted misprints

  • Bundled posters in stacks of 20

  • Shrink-wrapped each bundle

  • Packaged 2 stacks of 100 posters, sealed with QC stamp

  • Prepped final delivery for meetup or shipping

Impact & Takeaways

  • Delivered all 200 prints on time and within quality standards

  • Helped enhance a public-facing event with hand-crafted, collectible visuals

  • Strengthened creative trust with a major cultural institution

  • Reinforced personal brand ethos: mixing legacy, labor, and art with purpose

Whether you're building an event, launching a release, or want visuals that mean something—I'm here for the whole process.

From concept to print, let’s create work that carries weight and leaves a mark.
