design FAQ

Custom Design Process

    • Nail Down the Details: We’ll establish exactly what you need—whether it's a logo, artwork, or something else. We'll also figure out sizes, formats, and all that jazz.
    • Set the Scope: We’ll outline the project’s goals, timeline, and deliverables, so we’re all on the same page.
    • Talk is Money: Got ideas? Great. We’ll gladly dive into your vision and find a solution to your problem. But keep in mind, time is our most valuable resource. Have your idea's and intentions set. I charge for lengthy discussions upfront—no free brain-picking sessions here. Let's respect each other's time.

File Formats and Their Uses

  • JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group):

    • Definition: A format for compressing digital images with 24-bit color.
    • Common Uses: Ideal for photographs and images with complex color gradients. It’s commonly used for web images and digital photography due to its balance of quality and file size reduction, though it’s less suitable for images requiring high detail or transparency.
  • PNG (Portable Network Graphics):

    • Definition: A format that supports lossless compression and transparency (alpha channel).
    • Common Uses: Best for images with text, graphics, and transparency, such as logos and web graphics. Its ability to maintain high image quality and support transparent backgrounds makes it versatile for various design purposes, particularly where detail and clarity are important.
  • SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics):

    • Definition: A vector-based format using XML to describe images, allowing for scalable, resolution-independent graphics.
    • Common Uses: Ideal for logos, icons, and illustrations that need to be resized frequently. Its scalability ensures crispness and clarity at any size, making it suitable for both responsive web design and high-quality prints. Additionally, it allows for easy editing and animation of vector graphics.
  • PDF (Portable Document Format):

    • Definition: A format that preserves the layout of a document across different devices and platforms, including text, images, and vector graphics.
    • Common Uses: Perfect for final design proofs, document sharing, and print-ready files. It ensures consistency in appearance and supports high-quality print production, making it ideal for brochures, flyers, and complex documents where layout and design integrity must be maintained.
